Description
GDC Matrix Retainer Tofflemire (MRTU)
For Class II restorations, the Universal (Tofflemire) matrix system is employed. Restoring anatomic proximal contours and contact regions is the matrix's main purpose.
There are four components to the matrix retainer:
U-shaped head with three slots or guides for the band's location
The sliding body that retains the band is called a locking vise.
A long knob that modifies the loop's diameter
The band is secured in place within the sliding body by a short knob.
